    I have registered on USCIS website for I-485, AP and EAD. When I logged on today I saw last updated date modified to 11/25/2007.
    Email notification for all the registerd cases is turned on. I did not receive any email notification for the updates

    Just wondering if some one else in the same boat not receiving emails.
    I have given my hotmail email ID, if that matters ?

    Any Idea ...

    It does work and they only send an email for a hard LUD (when there is a material change in status).

    There was no agreement signed. It was just agreed on an email. Am i still bound with the emplyment laws. Just want to understand before taking any steps. Also the project has ended after 4 month but i don't have any document. Also company B can't reveal any internal documents.

    what about the people who are beyond their 6 year H1B term -extending it every year. The USCIS website does not provide any indication for those.

    Looks like it applies only to people with 6 year term expiring and labor applied/approved < 365 days. A very small subset of people perhaps but they needed immediate relief.

    This was big surprize to me. Mine and my spuse had hard LUD on our I485 with the current status as :Notice Returned as Undeliverable. There wer no other updates or status change or approval or denial or soft LUD etc.

    The most surpising to me that both of us received the Finger Printing notices on our new address just a month ago.

    This is really frustrating.

    When I called up the 800 number the lady said just ignore this status as this is some computer glitch.
    Dont know what to do just believe her or try to do something else?

    Need help ! any one out there in same situation???

    I would suggest you not to take this lightly, though some IO on phone said so. I would suggest you to go for infopass ASAP

    Hi,

    -I got my I140 approved in MAY 2006.
    -I got my 3 years H1B based on I140 approval. I went to India for stamping as I was out of status for 10 months due to 7th year extension pending for a long time with USCIS.
    - I came to USA on this H1B in JUNE'2006 with approval until JUNE'2009.

    -On JAN 2007, my company has received a letter from USCIS to 'INTENT TO Revoke' the approved I140.
    -My employer responded to USCIS letter with required documents.
    -We are waiting for USCIS decision.

    In this situation
    1.Will my H1B also be revoked if I140 is revoked?

    2. Can I transfer my H1B to another employer. How much time do I have?

    3. If I transfer my H1B(i have approval until JUNE2009), can I apply new labor and I140 and get extension again after 2009.

    Any other suggestions , help that you can do. Please advise?

    Answer:If I-140 is revoked, H1b extension is not valid but I have seen cases where USCIS has not bother much about it, if you had valid extension before revoked but do discuss this question with a lawyer.

    Answer:Yes, you can transfer, do it as soon as you can.

    Answer:Yes, start new PERM+I-140 and get extension for 3 years.

The low-end industries and illegal aliens that will benefit from legalization are charaterized as workforces that belong to the organized unions. This is contrasted to the high-end industries and professional workers that are not by nature tightly organized into the unions. For the reasons, the unions tend to support the CIR, unlike the high-tech worker bills, to take advantage of expanding its membership and power base through the to-be-newly-recruited members of the unions. Aha...... Immigration proponents hope to see that legal immigration supporters and illegal immigration supporters quickly find a bed to share and become bed-partners such that the immigration reform legislation will move along more smoothly avoiding internal feuds and conflicts in the community.

    I am starting this thread after I experienced that CIS Ombudsman is actively helping EB as well as other immigrant community in getting their problems with USCIS resolved very quickly. We are fortunate to have such a platform to log our problems and get solution.

    There are two pointless threads on this site, one is titled "The yanks are coming" and another as "US political system is broken". They both contain long rants of a single user. I seriously doubt if anybody ever reads them, as is evident from the absence of any other user's reply to these threads. Why don't we just remove them, or block them from showing up on the main page. At least it will free up space for more useful threads.

    Those are excellent threads buddy. If you look at the content the poster seems to spend significant time to gather the facts and the presentation is extremely detailed. Somebody mentioned the lighten up thread its also great, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I agree that some information may not be strictly immigration related its ok. This is my personal opinion.

    AP is a very important document for re-entry incase if you don't have backup such as valid H1B visa. Have read quite a few cases here of people who wait till the last day for applying the renewal and then crying when an emergency occurs and they don't have valid a AP. It is in our best interest to apply it 120 days before its expiration date.

    We are planning to go to India in the last week of September. My current AP expires by Oct 10. Hence applying for a new one. How long are AP approvals taking now a days at TSC.

    What do you mean by legal basis. He agreed to pay $2 to company A (in email) until the project ends. If this is correct, he should continue paying $2 to company A. Since the OP stopped paying $2 , company A wants to make sure that the project ended.

    Ofcourse, Since thee is no contract or agreement between company A and OP, no need to pay $2. But that is not fair on his part. Company A is not asking for 25-40% from billing, He just asked for $2 per hour.

    He has to pay them only if he signed a contract.

    These consulting firms are run mostly by bums and will always try to rip people off.

    Before start paying, he should have consulted Department of Labor to find out if he really needs to pay and whether company A can demand such terms? These bums take advantage of people who get scared of them.

    OP, if they continue to mess with you, try to get in touch with Department of Labor.
