Can we contact journos like Neil Cavuto, Sheryl Casone to talk about how giving GC to legals like us can stimulate economy in someway?
I noticed these Business section journos are endlessly talking about ways to prevent the recession.
We can suggest them to talk about recapturing of visas & giving the legals GCs as it can contribute towards (to some extent) a possible stimualtion to the economy(it will surely add to the percentage...) surely we are boosting the spending by making high earning legals spend more on say housing or Autos by giving them GCs...
Not sure if IV gurus are thinking on these lines.

It is my understanding that you would be able to save the form locally in a format that can be opened only through the Department of State's website. My wifes AP also approved today. The case had a LUD on 15th but the case was not approved on that day. I had sent a fax to 402-219-6171 with my travel Itinerary on 16th and there was a LUD on 16th. And on 17 they approved the application.
I had a infopass appointment on 16th and the immigration officer gave me the fax number. He was telling me that another person had came to expedite the application and he got approval after sending the fax.

You time on EAD will also be counted unless the H1 is cancelled when you start using the EAD.
Here is a situation....
Assuming you are on H1 and have completed 2 years.. And would like to use your EAD.. After using your EAD for one year if you want to come back to H1 - it is possible. - If your employer has cancelled your H1 when you started using the EAD you will have remaining 4 years.. But if he has not cancelled then your time on H1 will continue to be counted along with EAD and you will have only 3 years remaining on the H1.

I am reading "CIR is dead" from logiclife. I have not read this anywhere? Is this officially declared? If not, pls edit this as I do not want IV member to get caught on this news break.
Everyone who is frustrated: please have some restraint.
Shouting out, and making fun of lawmakers does not behoove us if we are working with their offices.
Imaigine this: We go into a lawmaker's office (which we do quite often even now, even tho CIR is dead) and explain who we are, our situation, retrogression, etc. etc. and then the staff comes to us and says: By the way, your website has said "This" about my boss, congressman XYZ.
What do you think we are going to say to them? That we practice first amendment rights on our forums where we openly trash you, and the next morning, we walk into your office and ask for provisions and legislations to help us????
First amendment is great to have when you need to rebel, protest and outright oppose someone. Not when you are looking to work with someone and advocate. There is a huge difference between advocacy and protest.
So legal, others, while it provides a great deal of relief to lash out at congressmen, or media, (I've done my share of mistakes in this regard, so I know) try to do it in a way that it doesnt make us look like fools when we go to their office asking for favors/provisions.

One option for you would be to consider looking for another job which meets your expectations. You can ask your new employer to file a new Green card PERM. After PERM approval you can file a new I-140 along with a request to transfer your priority date (PD) of Nov 2004 from the old I-140 to the new I-140. This way you can keep working in the job or profession of your choice while not sacrificing any of the time you have originally invested in the 1st Green card process. Hope this helps.

AC 21 doesnt restrict for future employment. Purpose of AC21 is for an employee not to stuck with an employer in case of delay in GC. In this case there is a substantial delay from USCIS and hence you can use AC21.

Getting the driver's license is not the problem, I know it will come. Problem here is why I cannot drive outside SC for up to 60 days waiting for the DL card? Remember I've to surrender my old SC license. This is serious limitation to my work, e.g. I need to go to Atlanta on 08/19 and I cannot drive there.
In September I will go to Italy, what if I don�t get my DL till then?

On Checking the SC dmv site and it is interesting to note that non-citizens are not allowed to renew their license online. I guess this is the result of illegal immigration reform thing which is now a part of so many states along with SC. And I think they are running background checks against the legal status of any non-citizen folks. My take would be that you should consider meeting the senator and explaining the issue. They can basically expedite the process so that you wont have to wait for a long time.

I wanted to tell that only last year's tax return was needed. Nothing else.
USCIS can ask for previous tax return any time. you maynot have tofile now but better to clean that. refile 1040X and pay the taxes and interst. you will be fine. IRS is good if you accept your mistake instead of catching you later.

I am not an expert but I would think by the way USCIS works you would be better off (in terms of time) starting a new application than trying to amend an existing EB application with them.
