That's odd. My iPad 2 does return to the previous spot when I hit back. Have you tried to see if it does it on every web page or just a handful?

Can anyone tell me why the Apple TV is not shown in the buyers guide section? It should be in there!

Do you have a hi-res version of that Yvonne Strahovsky wallpaper?
I modified it slightly into a wallpaper from this artwork here (http://kami501.deviantart.com/art/Yvonne-Likes-My-Lines-122781990). Though I uploaded my wallpaper version here (http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/yy282/nanowire/MacRumors/Yvonne_Likes_My_Lines_by_Kami50wall.png).

The best way to avoid the experience of the music industry is to respond to a changing market and give people what they want before they get mad enough to expend the effort to just take it and feel justified.
I couldn't agree with you more. The current model that the MPAA and the RIAA are trying to preserve is simply irrelevent with the advent of digital media as a realistic and easily obtainable alternative. They had a chance to embrace it and make serious changes to the way they do things (i.e. find some way to deliver content at essentially no cost to the consumer but still turn a profit through ads and other sponsorship, which would work because the cost of producing the content is decreasing really quickly) but they chose to fight it and they can't win. The iTS is a compromise between the two, but I'll stick to free media and pay to go to concerts for bands I like and see some movies in the theatres.

Just bought a 1tb Seagate Desk external hard drive and in an effort to try and hide it, I'm modifying a shoe box to house it nicely. If anyone else has some sort of special set up for their external drive(s), post a picture of it here!

Microsoft is rock solid?
Let's see, as a 15 year IT worker who has supported many MS environments, I have been yanked out of bed at 2am 3 times because "new" viruses that the Anti-Virus software didn't even know about, had brought down hundreds of machines on the network, and had even brought down routers and switches.
I think the $100,000 we might spend on IPS/IDS blades for all the core switches to analyze the traffic coming from Windows machines might be better spent if we just put Macs in the network and maybe stick a free Snort box in there as an after thought.
Companies spend millions just keeping their Windows machines in line -thank about it. MS has never been serious about security.
Very Very interesting point. AntiVirus contracts/solutions (or lack there OF) is VERY costly as a day to day part of operations and productivity. YES Microsoft is part of the problem, but all these rogue developers trying to bring down microsoft & other corporations are also part of the problem.
I'm VERY interested to see just how much storage space virii definitions take up both on workstations & on server just in the drive to security & uptime.
Is it NOT AMAZING that in the last 20yrs we've come so far with regards to computing?!

With the hdmi displayport adapter ?
Nope, but some vendors (Monoprice, for example) sell a Mini-DisplayPort->HDMI adapter which has integrated audio via USB. It is more bulky than a regular adapter, but it does the job.

i think we'll see a trend where people start clipping the suffle on something and then take pictures of the ipod shuffle attached to.
like... the most expensive driving mp3 player on earth, ipod shuffle clipped on the antenna of a ferrari..
or you've got a living mp3 player-pet: your ipod shuffle clipped at your dogs ear ;)
etc...
there should be a website for that... and if you're putting a bunch of google ads on it and start making it popular.. you could probably buy 200 ipod shuffles after a month =)

I think it's funny all the comments about "is that enough?" I think this proves two things...
1. Most people don't quite understand just how much a million/billion/trillion of something is.
2. People think that this 12PB amount must have been decided upon arbitrarily, as if Apple didn't do a crapload of research to decide what a good starting amount would be.
Here's another good visual representation of trillion, in dollars:
What does a trillion dollars look like? (http://www.pagetutor.com/trillion/index.html)

w/ TRIM support I hope
This isn't solid state storage, so TRIM is not even in the picture.
The last quote I got for a 300GB SSD module for our SAN was $17,500 (after a 50% "discount" from list), about six months ago. So if we assume that the price has gone down a bit since then and Apple gets crazy volume discounts, let's assume they'd pay around $10k. Times 40,000 units, we'd be talking $400M just for the drives themselves, not counting the hot spares, enclosures, controllers, switches, licensing, and all the other ancillary stuff involved. We'd be somewhere between a half and three quarters of a billion dollars.
